Doctor of Economic Sciences and Director of the Paata Gugushvili Institute of Economics at the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University,  Professor Abesadze is Chief Scientist at the same Institute. He is editor-in-chief of international scientific journal Economics and Editor-in-chief of scientific works published by the Institute of Economics and author of more than 100 scientific works.  He has organized and participated in numerous international conferences and heads four scientific grants from the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, has been Full Professor at several higher educational institutions of Georgia and was awarded the Order of Honor.
